Draw The Line

About the Project​

The project Draw the Line is focused on the prevention and combat violence against immigrant women and mothers who suffer from sexual violence in their homes and who cannot prevent or protect themselves from violence.

The actions in this case will consist of the empowerment of these women, giving them their rights and the means to prevent the appearance of new acts of violence. The program will provide tools to help them define their role in the family and society and, also, to improve their capacity to deal with violence. This method will not only cover the sexual violence aspect, but also the sexual harassment that immigrant women face within the society in which they live.

Another objective is to promote understanding of the phenomenon of sexual violence and to increase the participation of immigrant women in the prevention of it.

The programme includes the organization of training modules and development of materials and tools that will be applied to train immigrant women who will act as group leaders of different immigrant communities. In this way it raises the awareness of women to be more informed and educated about sexual violence and harassment.

The project “Draw the Line” emphasizes to the empowerment of immigrant women and it will succeed that through the workshops and the training units that will be organized. The importance of the training is visible as it facilitates immigrant women to form self-help groups, for example, the organization of mutual aid in case of threat of violence.
