Current coach situation in each of the participating countries in “Future for Children” European project
- Ιουλ 19, 2018
A European initiative using sport to promote health and well-being among young people living in underprivileged districts is successfully ongoing.
In the current stage of the project implementation, an Analysis of the current coach programme and the extent to which it is addressing issues of social inclusion is being conducted in each participating country. The purpose of this study is how coaches deal with children living in underprivileged districts during the training sessions.
From the project’s point of view, sport can vastly contribute to social change in many ways. Due to sports -and with the intervention of professionals- links are established to generate inclusion, promotion of education, health and the organisation of a community – that is, bonds can be created between the different members of the group that allow strengthening the figure of the person and the group itself.
In this sense, it is important that coaches are prepared to take this initiative and design proper programmes to carry out their tasks, thus playing a significant role in the delivery of a sports-based social inclusion intervention.
Participating organisations which are conducting the Analysis in this stage of the project are: Club Lluita La Mina (Spain), Club Gimnastica La Mina (Spain), ASM de Clermont – Ferrand (France), European Institute for Local Development (Greece) and CEIPES (Italy).
